Honey Bee Stamps|Hello Summer Release Blog Hop Day One

Hi crafty friends, I hope you are as excited for this Summer Release Blog Hop as I am! I'm sure you have seen the sneak peeks...did you make your list already of what you want to buy? Or did you buy it already? I did! I have made 2 cards for this hop, one is showing off the Sand Castle Builder Die Set and the Sea Breeze Sentiments and the other is showing off the Beach House Add-on Stamps and Dies. Don't forget that Honey Bee Stamps is giving away a $25 gift certificate each day on the blog, so you need to hop along and comment for a chance to win. Let's get started on these fabulous cards.

I am really digging slimline cards, so I thought I would make one for this hop, I also wanted a pop-up card for the super cute new Sand Castle Builder Die Set. The front of this card is really simple because the inside is so fabulous. I stamped the sentiment on the front and then took the cute seashells from the new Beach House Add-on Stamp and stamped a straight line of shells. Now for the inside...I used the Ocean Scene Builder Stencil for the background "ocean". I used Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon and Chipped Sapphire for the ocean and Tumbled Glass for the light rays and bubbles.

For the background waves, I used the Ocean Borders Stamp and Die and inked that in the same ocean colors for the background and die cut it out. I popped that out away from the back of the card. I stamped and colored the mermaid and turtle from the Swimming By Stamp Set with Copic Markers. I adhered the mermaid to the waves with foam tape and adhered the turtle with foam tape to the back of the card.

Now, on to this really cute new Sand Castle Builder Die. I die cut the pieces out of white cardstock. I inked it with Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink and then blended Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Ink at the bottom of each piece. To me it looks like wet sand. I glued all seven pieces together for a really fun sand castle. I sprayed some shimmer craft spray for a glittery effect and then I added the pop-up pieces behind it.

I stamped, colored and die cut the "hello"sign, anchor and seashells from the new Beach House Add-On Stamps and dies. For the sign I used the boat oar as the post. I added the sentiment from the new Sea Breeze Sentiments and white heat embossed it. I added some glitter to the shells, turtle and mermaid with a sparkle pen. I finished with a white gel pen for highlights.

Now for this fun card I am using the most awesome new Beach House Add-On Stamps and Dies. I started with the House Builder Die and cut out the base house in bright white cardstock, the windows and door out of Brown Box cardstock and the curtains out of Lagoon cardstock. I used my score buddy and a bone folder and scored lines horizontally for the shiplap effect.

Using the new Beach House Builder Add-On Dies, I cut out the roof and fence in Parcel Wrap cardstock, the palm tree trunks, windows and door are cut out of Brown Box cardstock, the palm leaves are cut out of Green Leaf cardstock and the birds are cut out of Ebony cardstock. I stamped and copic colored the images from the new Beach House Add-On Stamps and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

I am using a 5x7 card base for this. I inked the background with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink for the sky and Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide for the sand. I glued everything down adding foam tape to the Tiki Torches, Bike, Chair, front palm tree and Beach Sign for dimension.

I added shadows underneath all the objects with a Copic Marker, added some glitter and white gel pen for sparkle and highlights to the sand. I added white highlights to some of the other images and added the sparkle pen to the seashells.

I hope you guys enjoyed these projects and I hope you feel inspired to make something great! Thank you so much for hopping along!! The next person you will hop to is Carol.
