Simon Hurley|Doodle Floral Stamp and Direct to Paper Inking

Hi crafty friends, welcome back to my blog. I hope you are having a wonderful day. This card using Simon Hurley products is so fun and colorful, it just makes you feel good when you look at it. I did some direct to paper inking for the background and added the florals with white embossing powder for a pop. To see the making of this card from beginning to end watch the full video tutorial by clicking here or watch below.

I started by deciding which colors of ink I wanted to use and then I put them in an order in which they would blend well when overlapping. I put the ink pad directly to the paper and and gently went back and forth. When I was done I spritz the paper with water because the inks are reactive.

The background needs to be dry, so use a heat tool or just wait it out. Once dry, I prepped the paper with an anti static tool and stamped the image with grey embossing ink. I then added the white embossing powder and heated until it was melted. I trimmed this A2 size piece down to 1/2" on both sides.

I stamped the sentiment in Prom Queen in and trimmed the paper down. I used foam tape behind the inked background and adhered that to an A2 size card base. I also used foam tape behind the sentiment for dimension. I finished the card with some gold and clear sequins.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you leave here feeling inspired to create something wonderful!

Hugs,

Joy
